LEARN TO RIDE

Welcome to Rider’s Edge^®, The Harley-Davidson Academy of Motorcycling, a proven blend of classroom instruction and range riding.
The Rider's Edge^® New Rider Course delivers the basics of motorcycle operation and safety. You’ll learn from devoted instructors certified by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation^® in a relaxed, supportive environment that fosters camaraderie and confidence.

After passing a written and riding skills evaluation, you’ll receive a Motorcycle Safety Foundation^® RiderCourse^SM completion card that may qualify you for discounts on insurance and a Certificate of Completion of Motorcycle Training (DL389) that will exempt you from the riding portion of the motorcycle license test.

The course is held over five days; the classroom portion being held at our dealership and the range portion, off-site. All sessions are mandatory, so make sure the course fits into your schedule. Times are as follows:

Thursday, 6:30pm to 8:45pm
Friday, 6:30pm to 8:45pm
Saturday, 8:00am to 6:00pm
Sunday, 8:00am to 4:00pm
Monday, 6:30pm to 8:45pm

To take the course, you will need:

To know how to ride a bicycle

A valid driver’s license or learner’s permit or proof of successful completion of a basic driver’s ed program

Jeans or other suitable long pants

Sturdy over-the-ankle boots or shoes

Full-fingered gloves of leather or comparable material

A long-sleeved shirt or jacket

Protective eyewear and a D.O.T. approved helmet

You’ll be riding the 492cc Buell^® Blast^®, a light, easy to handle bike with rider-friendly design that will have you feeling in control.
